Dr. George Welch
Dr Welch attended Williams College and the University of Vermont College of Medicine where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Hospital (Harvard University). Afterwards, he was a postdoctoral fellow researching endothelial dysfunction at the Whitaker Cardiovascular Institute at Boston University.
He is the author of 20 scientific articles including a lead article in the New England Journal of Medicine. He completed a cardiology fellowship at Boston University. He has been practicing cardiology for 26 years with a specialization in non-invasive cardiology. He is board certified in general cardiology, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and vascular medicine. He lives in Portland, Maine where he enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, running and sailing.
